Secret Belgian Binding

The cover of this book is bound separately from the pages, and the spine is free inside the crossed strings and could, in theory, be removed. The signatures of pages are then sewn in to the cover binding.

This first book was my first attempt, and the second book was for my final bookmaking project. I chose to focus on the Japanese theory of Wabi Sabi, the recognition of beauty in mistakes. The pages are my attempt to portray the beautification of mistakes.
